About Hexham


About Hexham

The market town of Hexham has a population of about 11,000 and is situated in the Tyne Valley in the county of Northumberland.

The ancient Abbey of Hexham is at the heart of the town and dates back to the 7th century. To the north of the town is Hadrian's Wall. Built by the Romans in A.D. 122, this World Heritage site, set in the outstanding Northumberland countryside, attracts visitors to the area from all over the world.
